REPORTING

During my tenure at The Slate and while working at two internships, I interviewed countless numbers of people and used gathered information in print and online sources for hard news and feature stories. I am also highly skilled at determining what is and is not important enough to make it into a story.

WRITING

I have written hundreds of stories in my journalism career. I have three years of experience covering breaking news events, as well as writing hard news, feature stories and reviews on hard deadlines.

EDITING

I have extensive editing experience from my time as assistant news editor, news editor, managing editor and editor-in-chief of The Slate. I know how to cut out words and sentences to make them more concise, fact check stories and check for grammar/spelling/AP style errors. Also have four years of experience designing newspaper pages.

VIDEO/AUDIO PRODUCTION

I have intermediate experience with video and audio production, particularly with transcribing audio for podcasts and editing video/audio through iMovie.
